Project Background

Gomal Zam Dam (GZD) is a gravity dam in South Waziristan Agency. The dam impounds the Gomal River - a tributary of the Indus River, at Khajori Kach, where the Gomal River passes through a narrow ravine.

     Purpose of GZD

• Irrigation - 10% (200,000 Acres) increase in canal irrigated CCA.
• Floods Control
• Hydroelectric Power Generation
